| @The Establishment of Masako Formals |
Masako Formals was established by Mrs. Fumiko Yamamoto and her daughter in 1977. The salon started off on the 2nd floor of The Ala Moana Building in Honolulu, Hawaii. Its purpose was to meet the needs for both Local and Japanese customers looking for bridal, formal wear and tuxedos for rental or purchase. Masako Formals continued these services for nearly a decade before they were recognized for their hard work and commitment of striving for excellent customer service. In 1996 Masako Formals was awarded with the "Peoples Choice Award" by the Honolulu Advertiser. In August of 1996, Kumiko A. Okimoto, Mrs. Yamamoto's daughter (President and CEO of Masako Formals) decided to relocate the salon to the Pent House of The Ala Moana Building to expand the salon's inventory and to create new ideas for ceremonial and reception services. For five years, Masako Formals continued it's services at the penthouse and continued to expand the salon's inventory. In August of 2001, Kumiko A. Okimoto made the decision to take a step toward reinventing Masako Formals. She did this by expanding her business to better serve the customers and meet their needs, thus deciding to move her business to a much larger space at 716 Cooke Street. Masako Formals will continue its dedication to the customers by continuing to expand its inventory and giving each individual the best customer service possible. |
